windows pageing file

I am running windows 2000 PRO. I used Symantec Ghost to
expand me C drive. I also have a D drive that contains
the original pageing file. While running ghost I
disconnected the D drive. The Ghost went fine and when I
tried to rebooted the system, I got the message "your
system has no paging file or the paging file is too
small". The original paging file is on the D drive. When
I connect the D drive and boot the system, after the login
screen the next message is saving settings and then I get
the login screen again. I am in this loop. is there
something do to fix this problem?
