"Windows - No Disk" Error Message

I have a Sony Vaio laptop running Vista Home Premium, no SP1 as yet.
Recently, instead of the usual screensaver slide show appearing when the
laptop is left running, a box against a black background keeps appearing.
It is headed "Windows -- No Disk" and the message reads:
"0x8383AD5C ox760E023C 0x760E023C"
Below the message there are three buttons labelled "Cancel", "Try again" and
"Continue". Whichever button I press, the box and the black background
disappear and gthe desktop is open for business.

I should be most grateful if anyone can explain this nuisance and any
possible way of correcting it.

I failed to include the full message: It reads

It is headed "Windows -- No Disk" and the message reads:
"Exception Processing Message.
0x8383AD5C ox760E023C 0x760E023C"

It remains an annoying mystery.

Google is your friend just search "Exception Processing Message", you'll
find a solution.

You may say Google is my friend. But there are several different and varied
explanations to be found by searching there. Even worse. Try putting in the
present thread subject heading into this present newsgroup, as I did after
posting my original problem. There are at least ten if not twenty different
reasons given in these pages. None of them tell me much. It's like the cure
for the common cold. If there really was one there would only be the one
cure. When there is no cure and no rational explanation that fits all cases
then you know that no one really knows. All I can say is that since posting,
my machine has been terrified into ceasing this nasty practice, and is now
behaving itself ..... until the next time!

But thank you Michael for being so kind as to respond.
