windows movie maker

my windows movie maker can't load. when I go to start, click on RUN, and then
type in MOVIEMK.EXE, it tries to load the program ther gives me this error
message ''Windows Movie Maker has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience'', it gives Send Error Report or Don't
send. I tried all trobleshooting i can think of but did not succeed. I have
windows XP

I am having exactly the same problem. I don't know what to do. I have
re-installed windows movie maker and it has made no difference. I use this
program a lot and am lost without it, can anyone offer any advice as to what
I should do.

I don't have a solution for you, but and unqualified opinion: I get the same
message when I try to use Internet Explorer. Downloaded a new version and
complained to MS to no avail, so switched to Mozilla Firefox. My opinion is
that, given the high esteem MS holds, there is a virus which attacks only MS
programs. You may try to attack it from that front.
