windows media won't play wma's

hi, ever since i reformatted my computer and got the
latest version of windows media player, it won't play all
of my wmas. I noticed that it specifically won't play my
older files. I then noticed that these files had a bit
rate of 64kbps as opposed to the 128 kbps that the others
had. Does windows media no longer play files with a
smaller bit rate, and if so is there a way to alter it?

WMP9 will play bit rate as low as 48kps,you can/could edit
or change the bit rate to them,or simply run the track(s) thru
WM encoder.Unlike video, audio tracks take little time to encode,
even fully functional WMP tracks can go thru the encoder multiple
times if you desire, the quality usually just gets better.
