I do not want windows mail as my default mail program. How can I change
that???? I have tried everything and nothing works. I want my incredimail to
be my default account but it says I have to have have administrator or power
user privileges to do this. Tells me to contact my system administrator. I am
the system administrator, I am the only user of this computer. When I go to
Windows mail and try to change that so it is not default, it is grayed out so
it cannot be changed. Somebody please tell me what to do. Help!!!!!!!

Change the default e‑mail program

Though Windows Mail is used as the default e‑mail program by web
browsers and other programs that support sending e‑mail, you can choose
a different e‑mail program as the default. If you decide you want to
change the default e‑mail program back to Windows Mail, you can do so at
any time.

Click to open Set Program Access and Computer Defaults.‌ If you are
prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the
password or provide confirmation.

Under Choose a configuration, click Custom.

Under Choose a default e‑mail program, click the e‑mail program you'd
like to use, and then click OK.

I hate to be completely stupid but I do not know where to find set program
access and computer defaults. If I could find that then your directions look
very good to follow.

Incredimail is not yet Vista compatible. What you want can't be done
until the Incredimail developers release a Vista compatible version.

Hey,

Click start > and in the start search box - type prog.. you will see default
prog option popping in the start menu.

Sorry, webmail cannot be set as a default email program.
The only exception I know of is Hotmail.
I think that Aliant also has POP mail, which could be used
with Windows Mail.

Sorry, but IncrediMail is not compatible with Vista.
Contact the IncrediMail developers as to when they will be releasing
a Vista-compatible version.
