windows mail won't try to send

windows mail spontaneously quit trying to send from my default account.
messages go to outbox and when I click send/receive, it only tries to
receive. I have checked the ports and outgoing server, everything is correct.
Any ideas?

Click on the Outbox, and see if you can move all the messages there to your
Drafts folder or delete them. Let us know if any refuse to do either.

Also, some sending problems in Windows Mail are caused by interference
from antivirus programs. What if any antivirus programs do you have?

If you get any error messages when you try try to send, right click on them
and copy the entire error messages to your next message.
