Windows Mail/Windows mail Live Beta

TI am confused... There seems to be many problems with Windows Mail... which
I believe, replaced Outlook Express in Vista. What is the difference between
Windows Mail and Windows Mail Live Beta? Is this second one meant to
replace Windows Mail, or is it only the replacement for Hotmail? If it is a
replacement for Windows mail... when could we expect the final release of it?
(not beta)
Friend has Vista/Windows Mail and has had nothing but trouble with Windows
Mail. She would like to use an e-mail client instead of relying on a
server-based e-mail account. Would appreciate an explanation if possible.
thank you.

Hi,

You can read up on Windows Live Mail Beta 2 (WLM) here:

'Windows Live Mail' (http://morethanmail.spaces.live.com/)

WLM is a email program just like Windows Mail (WM). You can use your
Hotmail account in WLM. WLM has a separate Inbox for each account and
will minimize to a tray icon instead of the taskbar. Plus, it is more
stable than WM.

For US and UK (32 bit Vista):

For US and UK (64 bit Vista):
'Windows Live Beta 2 Suite Downloads'

For non-US and non-UK locations (direct download):

Hope this helps,
Shawn

My response to the thread just above yours answered most of your questions.
As to when WLM will come out of beta and be released as a final product,
nobody is saying; my guess is 3-5 months from now.
