Windows Mail vs Outlook express

In Windows Mail I'd like to have my contacts displayed on the left under my
inbox etc like you can do in outlook express - because you just have to
double click a contact and the new message box pops up with their email
address already entered. Is there a way to do this in Windows Mail? Thanks

No, you can't do that in Windows Mail.
Use the following method:
Click on Create Mail, click on To, select recipient.
It really isn't all that much more work.
