Windows Mail under Vista 64 very slow, freezing system

does anyone know of a way to optimize Vista 64 so that Vista mail does not
hang up and freeze the system? Main freezes when opening and then takes a
long time to build a box when you try to build and send a new message.

I thought that my adress book might be to blame, as I imported it from
Outlook Express.

Anyone know of working ways to improved the speed of this sysem?
