Windows Mail Tray Notifier

OK this time I'll word it more clearly...hopefully. It would be nice if
Windows Mail did NOT have to be opened in order to check if one has new
mail. Instead have a taskbar icon with visual/audio notification.
I've already sent it in to Microsoft, several build ago, only to be met with
a stony silence.

XP can show this at the login screen, though, it's susceptible to
corruption, and showing incorrect counts.

Yes I know, but what I would like to see is what practically any other email
client has, audible/visible desktop notification whether or not you have the
mail client open.

I'm sure someone could write a "gadget" for it.

TOTALLY UNBELIEVABLE, THAT SOMETHING so simple such as email notifier, has
been missed by Vista too. For one thing that fricked up program called
Incredimail which was bought by Microsoft has AWESOME notifiers but the rest
of the program crashes consistently. Is it possible that microsoft has just
overlooked the INCREDIBLE IMPORTANCE OF HAVING a notifier on the email. I
would buy a whole new operating system based on this one feature. Holy
Smokes, I am sick of all this crap.

I don't see the need for it since I have the email program
running whenever my computer is on.

I think you are misinformed if you thing Incredimail was bought by MS. That
certainly would be news to the owners of Incredimail.

Try Incredimail. It's a great e-mail program and it's free with no spyware
involved. It has a ton of very configurable notifiers for your desktop. There
is also an excellent spam filter available for it.
The home page is:

The beta version of Incredimail (from the download page) is Vista compatible.

I've used it for years and am very pleased with it.
