Windows Mail - New Screen Items?

C

(Running Vista Ultimate 64-bit, SP-1, IE-7, classic mode.)

I downloaded and installed a bunch of updates today. I now
notice that the Windows Mail screen has two new items which
I'd like to remove.

1. Upper right corner, a search window.
2. Just below it, a window to indicate which messages to
hide or show.

Any ideas how to remove these?

Thanks.

Do you really remove those items??
IMHO both are really valuable instruments.
The "Search" field is essential for filtering mails. And it's most
powerful as it works with a few letters already.

And the field fir selecting the view is most useful too, f.e. for
temporarily hiding read mails.

I use both very often and I could hardly work in the newsgroups without.

Yes, that is why I was asking.

I have no doubt they are really valuable instruments TO YOU,
but not to everyone. That is why it is nice to have options
for things that some people like and some people don't like.

If I ever have a need to filter emails or search through
them I hope I can remember how to acquire that screen.

I never have a need to hide read emails temporarily; once I
read an email it is either deleted, moved to a pending file
by category, or moved to permanent storage by category.

newsgroups without.

Again, it is nice for users to have options to use or hide
features as desired.

Best regards.
