Windows Mail Contacts Deletion

Whenever I attempt to delete a Windows Mail contact or group, I get a
"Microsoft Explorer stopped working" message and then a "Explorer is
restarting" message and the contacts and windows mail are closed and nothing
is deleted. What Explorer has to do with this is beyond me. Anyone have any
suggestions?

This often helps when you have problems with contacts: Start Windows Mail,
then click Tools, then Windows Contacts, then right click in the empty space
under
the toolbar in the contacts window, then click on Customize This Folder,
then the
triangle to the right of the folder type, then Contacts, then Apply, then
OK, then
close the contacts window.

If this doesn't help, a number of antivirus programs tend to cause an
assortment
of problems in Windows Mail, although seldom immediately. What if any
antivirus
programs do you have, and have you ever had a Norton or McAfee antivirus
program on that machine, even a trial version?

Robert - thanks. I will try your suggestions. I know I had to do some
"customizing when I first got this computer with VISTA.

I do have Norton Systemworks and Anti-Virus installed. I have just noticed
also that when I right click on a contact or group, the same "stopped
working" message appears.

You will continue to have problems with Windows Mail as long as
that Norton antivirus remains installed.

I can’t solve this problem: Whenever I attempt to delete a Windows Mail
contact or group, I get a "Microsoft Explorer stopped working" message and
then a "Explorer is restarting" message and the contacts and windows mail are
closed. So happen when I right click on a contact, or I press “Alt - File†on
Contacts window.
I have AVG Anti-virus free edition (Version 8.0.173).
