Windows Live One Care software and Vista

How many other consumers had Windows Live One Care 'Anti Virus Protection"
"crash" after installing Windows Vista?

No this is not a riddle. Apparently not many people with Windows Live One
Care installed have downloaded Vista yet.
I uninstalled what was left of WLOC and tried to reinstall the new Beta
version for Vista after I learned about it on the WLOC Forum yesterday but
WLOC won't let me install it because I am still and active subscriber on
their customer list until 5/2007.
After unsuccessful sessions with "Support" in all of the categoroies that
you could think of I went back to my old standby friend Mcaffee.

McAfee has a track record of not reporting trojan horses as malware. They
have openly stated that they will not report trojans created by any
government. While I have nothing to hide, I don't want my anti-virus
company deciding what it will, or will not, report as malware. In the past,
McAfee has chosen not to report maliciously spread trojans that other
vendors reported as viruses. McAfee called these trojans "Remote
administration tools".

By the way, there's no "new beta version for Vista". The Vista version has
been officially released. That may be part of your problem. And if you
were a beta user, you should have gotten an email offer to install the full
version for 19.95 for a year on up to 3 PCs. That's a heck of a deal.

Works perfectly. I find it necessary to install Vista first and then add
applicaitons. If you can install applications and then Vista, will you post
up how?

This is not making sense. I'd like to help. Install Vista>then install WOC
1.5 by going to www.live.com and install the 90 trial>open One
Care>Activate>if you already have a subscription to WOC it will convert the
90 trial of 1.5 to WOC per your subscription.

I have been testing WLOC 1.5 since Vista Beta 2 and have been a WLOC
subscriber for almost a year now. Other than some minor issues with
installing 1.5B, it has been working great!

I upgraded to the final release last week and have been even more
impressed...

YMMV,

JC
