Whenever I try and install a new update I get a message saying "The Windows
Installer Service cannot be accessed. This can occur if you are Windows in
safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed".

Click Start, Run, and type SERVICES.MSC. In the right pane, right-click
Windows Installer, and then click Start. Also, set the service "Startup
Type" to Manual.
