Whenever I click an icon, a small box appears with Windows Installer and the
message "Preparing to install". At the bottom is the "cancel" button. When
this message appears, the computer is frozen until the program or internet is
loaded. The computer performance has become very sluggish because of this
waiting period. The problem occurred after I restored it to a point.

this issue occurs when u have manually deleted the files or folder and the
rigstry handle is being accessed by ur actions being perfomed so windows
installer pops up trying to install the program, u can fix this issue by
running a registry cleaner here's a cleaner ccleaner
