windows installer stuck in loop

the windows installer keeps popping up to install a program each time I try
to open a different program. If you click cancel it just starts over again.
I have to pull up the task manager and end the task, sometimes several times
to get it to stop. Has anyone experienced this also, and what did you do to
fix it?

Try running this utility from Microsoft and see if it fixes your symptoms.
