Hi,
I’m encountering since weeks a problem, while installing a program: Mistake
description:"Fehler 1719. Auf den Windows Installer-Dienst konnte nicht
zugegriffen werden" beim Hinzufügen oder Entfernen von Programmen

I tried everything suggested by Microsoft, but the installer won't work.

Did you apply both methods? Did you install the latest Windows Installer?

Even the programm msicuu2.exe, which is needed to remove the windows
installer, couldn't be installed.

Note that this tool does *not* remove the Windows Installer!

Thanks d-d for Your response. I'm aware, but I tried to install it anyway ,
i.e. I used it to check the success progress of my many trials, by the
procedure outlined for error 1719 by MS to solve the problem. The crux is
maybe the followind error message:Beschreibung:

Der angegebenen Dienst kann nicht gestartet werden. Er ist deaktiviert oder
nicht mit aktivierten Geräten verbunden.
( here the approximate translation:" the service "Microsoft Legacy Modem
Driver" was not started because of the following error: the particular/stated
service can not get started. It is deactivated or not connected with
activated hardware.) I moved, and before I had installed and connected a
Fritz Card with the integrated software modems, etc. Now I have no more ISDN
and had to remove the Fritz program; maybe that was it?? Just for
completeness sake I include the following info, and hope somebody can make
head or tail out of it!cmd /k sc qc msiserver:::Answer ( in almost 100 cases
the same!):

That's a different issue, most likely. Open another thread concerning that
problem only.

cmd /k sc qc msiserver:::Answer ( in almost 100 cases the same!):
Der Befehl "sc" ist entweder falsch geschrieben oder
konnte nicht gefunden werden.

Why don't you narrow down. Type at the command prompt: "SC /?" (w/o "")
and see what happens. BTW, you can retrieve information about the
Windows Installer service also via Start > Run: services.msc >
Windows Installer > double-click. That service depends on the service
"Remote Procedure Call" = "Remoteprozeduraufruf (RPC)" (German). Check
if that RPC service has been started.

Alle betroffenen Keys haben die Berechtigung mit Vollzugriff : Administrator
( so geh' ich immer rein) und Jeder.
Was mir momentan dämmert: die Fehlermeldung nach event.vcr:

I tried narrowing down: "SC /?" (w/o "") gets the error: "can't be found",
and RPC service is started as RPC-Locator and is started manually and runs ok.
I guess its that "regseeker that I used and that messed up a lot. I tried to
get the backups which regseeker makes, back, but some of them were not
possible.

In this case, "sc.exe" has been deleted and/or the search path has been
removed. You may want to check your system drive if there are copies of
that file around in order to copy that file to the %windir%\System32
folder. However, I'd recommend to waste no more time with details.

I guess its that "regseeker that I used and that messed up a lot. I tried to
get the backups which regseeker makes, back, but some of them were not
possible.

I recommend frequently to stay away from any tools like that because they
may render the system useless. Try to fix your problems with a repair
installation. If this doesn't help, reinstall Windows from scratch.
