Windows Installer Help Needed again

I run XP Home with every update installed.
Acrobat Professional 6.0.1 with updates

As of late last week when I click on a PDF file I get Windows Installer
preparing to install
and then nothing happens.

If I open Acrobat and then go to folder open of file open and select
the
file I have no problem.

I did a system restore for a date before the problem happened. This did
not
help.

I removed windows installer and reinstalled with the latest version
from the
Microsoft site. Again no improvement.

I also tried to uninstall Acrobat Prof 6 with all the updates. I first
uninstalled the updates newest first and then Acrobat 6.

I was unable to uninstall Acrobat 6 because I received the same message
Windows Installer preparing to install and then nothing happens.

I would appreciate some expert assistance.

Thanks

I'm not certain if you used the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility or not.
So give this a try
