Windows Installer dialog keeps popping up

Hello,

Win 2K Prof. Why does the Windows Installer dialog keeps popping up
and how do I correct?

I have reinstalled WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe apparently to no
avail. Every click to launch an appl. ==>
Windows Installer
Preparing to Install

followed by another box, invariably with the message
The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other
removable disk that is not available

Insert 'xxxxxxxx' disk and click OK

'xxxxxxxx' changes from Norton to other several other application.
Inserting the disks seem to lock one into an endless circle as the list
repeats itself

Ahhhhhhh! MS

Fix downloaded from this site was msicuu2.exe

Running it ==>
msicuu2.exe generated error:

Dialog box : Windows Script Host
Script: C:\Temp\IXP000.TMP\StartMsi.vbs
Line: 2
Char: 1
Error: ClassFactory cannot supply requested class
Code: 80040111
Source; (null)

Suggestions?
Do I need to run windowsinstaller after this
i.e. WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe

Thanks

I had msicuu from a previous installer problem.
I just downloaded msicuu2, installed and ran it. I had nothing to fix, but
had no problems installing or invoking it. I don't know what to say about
your "ClassFactory" problem ... maybe someone else can step in?

As to WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe, I dunno. I haven't installed it.

Thanks it eventually went away after the
WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe installation

Now I have a different problem, unrelated I think, will post separately
Thanks again
