windows firewall delay outlook 2000

Hi, after patching my company's PC with SP2. the Windows Firewall are
automatically turn on. thereafter, the emails from the Outlook 2000 will not
automatically display the new incoming mails. we have to click on other
folders and those new emails will starts to appear in the inbox folder.
we have to turn off the Windows Firewall to resolve the problem. NOTE that
we do not have the problem earlier as we choose to turn off the Windows
Firewall as well.
please advise.
