Windows Explorer: Open to "My Computer" ?

O

Ol' Duffer

We are all familiar with Windows Explorer opening to "Desktop"
by default. This is due to %homedrive%%homepath% in the
"start in" field of the shortcut. This is, of course, an
irritating place for it to start, since I always have to
select "my computer", then a drive letter, etc., before I can
do anything useful with it. I have experimented with various
drive letters and paths, and these work, but I think I would
like it to open in "my computer". Is there some "environmental"
(maybe wrong terminology) variable like %homepath% that can be
put in the "start in" field that would make that happen?

Edit the shortcut's "Target" to read
%systemroot%\explorer.exe /e,::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}

Aaack! One of those ugly things. It figures.
I've often wondered what those Redmond folks were smoking....
What the heck, I plugged it in and it works. Thanks.
