Hi, Hope someone can help me with this problem.

When I access My Documents / My Computer etc, when I want to right click or
load a file of any type (.txt,.mp3, .jpd etc) when I get to the file type I
receive the message "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to
close. Sorry for the inconvenience."

When I click for more information I get Error Signature:
AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: ffff00ff

when I click technical information I get:

Exception Information
Code 0xc0000005 Flags 0x0000000

I have recently completely reloaded my PC back to factory settings, I have
installed the folllowing software:

Macafee Internet Security Suite
Spybot Search + Destroy
Ad Aware
WMP 10
Winamp
Winrar
VSO DivxtoDVD
VLC media Player
MS Office 2003 + updates
SP2 + All updates

Can someobody please advise me why this is happenning as have never suffered
with this before and it is very frustrating as I cant open and docemunts or
files unless I open them through the relevant software, ie I can open an MP3
Via WMP10, but cant open it direct from My Music folder????

Any help and advice is much appreciated.

Thanks

Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers:

Hi, I dont think it is either of these issues but thanks for you help,
explorer.exe only crashes when I get to the actual document...I have been
told it may be a RAM issue, but I have 712mb of RAM and system doesnt report
that it has any problems?

If anyone else can shed light it would be very appreciated

Thanks

Hi, I'm hijacking this thread because I'm experiencing the same problem
described here. When I browse to a file in my My Music folder, I either get
the error message listed above, or Explorer randomly reboots. All music
files are accessible through Windows Media Player, but browsing to them
almost inevitably results in this error.

Any insights? Browsing here worked prior to 1/2006, and SP2 was already
installed at that time.
