Windows DVD maker encodes to 43.9% then stops

When I try to burn a DVD with the DVD maker it encodes up to 43.9% and then
stops and tells me unspecified error.
Does anyone know why or how to fix this?

Just wondering how reverting Movie Maker from
Version 6 to Version 2.6 (which is only for users
who cannot run version 6) will correct an error that
occurred when using DVD Maker?

I have the windows vista home premimum version and below is what I did for
downloading. It says if Movie Maker launches do not install version 2.6 my
Movie Maker does load and I can view the movie in the DVD maker preview as
well I tried to burn one of the sample videos and that worked as well.

This is a video from my sony video camera is it possible I have to convert
this file?

Movie Maker 2.6 is for Windows Vista users whose computer cannot run the
Vista version of Movie Maker.

To test if your computer can run the Vista version of Movie Maker:

1. From the Start menu, click All Programs.
2. Click Windows Movie Maker.

If Movie Maker launches, you should not download version 2.6.

If you get an error message that says, "Windows Movie Maker cannot start
because your video card does not support the required level of hardware
acceleration or hardware acceleration is not available", download and install
Movie Maker 2.6.

Alex,

I have an HP/Presario CT500 Vista dual. I have never been successful in
burning a home made movie (pictures and video) via windows dvd maker. Getting
encoding stuck at 1% regardless of whether or not it's 10 pictues or 1000.
I've tried updating driver and installing MS directx but nothing. HP tech
support is saying it could be Vista problem and need to repair Vista. any
suggestions?
