Windows defender GUI is not coming up

I have installed windows defender on my XP. After there some spyware (
personal defender ) came to the system. I am not able to open the GUI for
windows defender.

I have reinstalled Windows defender as well.

In the process tab I can see only the MspMpEng running , but the GUI is not
coming up.

any suggestion.

I don’t have firsthand experience with this bug, but offhand, I wonder if you are completely clean yet.

I'd recommend reading the cleaning instructions at the link above--and also the comments to that entry--to see whether you've caught everything from the previous infection.

Otherwise, uninstalling and then reinstalling Windows Defender is what I'd try--and you've already done the reinstall part...
