Windows Classic theme won't load

I am using xp pro and latly am not able to change my deskyop to the windows
classic theme, Windows xp theme works fine but not the other.Any help please

What happens when you attempt to change to the Windows Classic theme?
Are there any error messages? Did you change any settings prior to
you noticing this behaviour?

I don't recall changing any settings. Yes I get an error message it states
The Theme could not load Unspedfied error I will click ok and then go to
display Properties and click apply and an Apply visual styles error comes
up.The visual Style could not be applied. Larry
