Windows boots to blackscreen then reboots

Hi
I am having a problem with windows XP Professional where
it goes through the normal booting except it ends up at a
black screen with just the white mouse arrow showing and
then after about 10 seconds it reboots and loops this
process. I haven't done anything to it that I know; it
just booted like this this morning. Does anyone know what
might be going on and how to get windows to load properly.
