Windows Automatic Upadate disabled

I recently had to recover Win2K through my repair discs. I
am trying to get my Automatic Updates to happen and the
entire box is disabled. However, the box is checked. Does
this mean updates will happen automatically? I had to
manually update all the service packs etc. Thanks for any
information you can give me on this.

Have you gone into the Control Panel & checked Auto Update? Is the 'Keep my
computer' checkbox checked?

Do you have sufficient security rights to install these updates?

This usually means the Automatic Updates service is disabled or missing.
