Windows 98 and with Windows XP

Currently have Windows 98 with MSN POPs account
Purchased Dell XP with Earthlink installed. Want to change this to MSN on
the same account as my 98. Can I do this and keep the same email address for
both computers, both would be on the same phone line? If the XP would be on
MSN 9, would the 98 also be on MSN 9? Can both be independent on the same
line? And how would I go about eliminating the Earthlink to download MSN
into the computer?
Thanks. Bob M.

If you desire to use both machines to access the same MSN account, yes
you can keep the same email address. I do that very thing.. I use a
router on my Verizon DSL connection to provide access to both of my
computers.

As long as you already have an ISP, you don't need Earthlink.

The OP did not mention having high speed Internet service.
Sounds more like they are on dialup.

You will use Earthlink to download the MSN to each machine.
When you are sure your new MSN is working properly, call Earthlink to
terminate your service. Then, remove the Earthlink software from your
system.
Go to Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs and remove Earthlink.

Only one computer at a time can access a dialup service without networking
the computers and using Internet Connection Sharing.
Any email downloaded to a computer will be on that computer unless you leave
a copy on the server.
