Windows 2000 setup: The setup doesnt go any further than looking for old version

Hello,

I have the following system:

P4, 2.4 ghz, workstation, 1 license windows 2000.
1x DVD / CDROM, no floppy drive (in all stations), Geforce
4 Ti 4600, 3com NIC.

After rebooting yesterday i got a BSOD, this BSOD can be
reproduced every single time and occures every boot.

Because of this i have insert the w2k cd, i have run a
repair console and the issue was found so it said. After
this i ran boot and the system stays in boot with the logo
screen where you get the text: Microsoft Windows 2000
Professional Built on NT technology.

It doesnt go any further than this and it does seems at
first that the mouse, keyboard and other devices are
detected.

After 5 hours leaving it on i gave up and reboot the
station, the same problem occured every boot. Therefor i
tried to run another repair console and during this repair
console the CD tries to detect other windows versions.
This is as far as it goes.

I got really sick of it after a day trying to fix this
issue, therefor i tried to make a new clean install on the
workstation but after accepting the Rules of agreement the
CD is trying to find: Another windows version and this
takes hours with no result.

I tried every single option from the F8 menu (safe
booting, with or without a network connection etc.) but
all options fail and the Windows setup just doesnt go any
further than the boot.

Since i got no boot disk or floppy drive to put a disk
into, i got to ask:

Is there any other way to get a new clean OS on the system
other than opening the workstation and plug in the
harddisk on another system?

With best regards,

Roger.

I have to add that i have no image server to run a
installation over the network.

I have added nor removed any hardware since 2
reinstallations ago, and that the last time i installed
software was 3 days ago. The workstation has restarted
since then 3 days without problem.

I also check daily for virus updates.

With best regards,

Roger
