Windows 2000 Server crashes

I defragged my hard drive today using the standard Windows
tool. I left home while it was running and returned to a
blue screen withe following message:
A driver has corrupted the executive memory pad.
I tried restarting the machine and continued to get a blue
screen a long with the following message:
Address 804677af base @ 80400000 date stamp 384d9b17-
ntoskrnl.exe

I have tried restarting in safe mode but it still blue
screens me.

Any ideas of what might be going on.

Thanks,

Can you get to a command prompt?

Break out the win2k CD and use it to bring you to a coammand prompt if the
normal way crashes.

Once there run chkdsk /r /f and pray

If this fails, can you get access to another machine? If so, pull out your
drive and plunk it in the other machine, attempt to recover important data.

It is possible also that you have some other hardware problem and your
drive is fine.
