As I recall from a past experience, the system registry is corrupt and my
only solution was to reload the system. I believe it was explained to me
that the registry is the last thing written to disk before the machine
powers off and on rare occasion the power off occurs before the registry is
completly written to disk.
If you watch closely there's an error message that occurs during the boot
cycle and you can eventually get all the numbers from it and look them up.
Microsoft does have some hits on their site regarding the error.
