Windows 2000 Local Admin password

The local admin password on one of my machines was changed. The machine was
taken off the domain and dropped into a workgroup.

Now can not log into the system as the user changed the admin password and
can obviously not rejoin the system to the domain.

Any suggestions on how to reset the admin password apart from reimaging the
machine?????

Unfortunately, if you do not have the password, there is no way to retrieve
it.
