window does not close

I use XP Pro.

For the last week or so, when I close a window using the 'X', the page
closes but leaves a blank window still in place. I have to click the 'X' on
that window to get it to close. Not a really big deal, but frustrating.

I haven't identified any particular occurrence that I can connect this to.
Just the usual updates from Windows installed.

Suggestions? Thanks.

Try a system restore to before this happened ?

I did a restore to back a few weeks. "Thought" I had gone back far enough.

Will any of the windows updates cause this??
