For the past week when closing and IE window either clicking on the X or
right click and exit, I have been getting an error message of Internet
Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. Many times this will
not only close the window I was trying to close, but several other IE windows
I may have open at that time. The technocally data is too long for me to
post with out knowing what to look for.

Any help would be appreciated because this happens about 75% of the time,
and causes me to have to reopen windows quite often.

Thanks

How to reinstall or repair Internet Explorer and Outlook Express in
Windows XP

Windows XP comes with Internet Explorer 6. Microsoft has made IE part
of the core operating system. If you think IE is screwed up, and want
to repair it, you must use the sfc command:

Start > Run, copy & paste > Sfc /scannow & press Enter.

This will scan and restore protected system files ( which IE is )
