Win98 client can no longer connect

Good morning to all.

I have a remote 98 client that can no longer connect to my W2K terminal
server. This server is running Citrix Metaframe 1.8. The client is dialing
up to the internet through an ISP then using the ICA client to connect to
the server. About two years ago we bought a term serv cal for this 98
machine.

All of a sudden, the 98 client cannot connect. Receives message saying
"Terminal services client disconnected. The terminal server has ended the
connection." I don't see the client's machine name in the terminal server
license tool. In testing I had the remote user use the win32 term serv
client instead of ICA. Still couldn't connect - received the same message.
All other clients, whether dial-up or LAN, can still connect.

Question - Do these client CALs expire after a certain period?

I have not contacted MS yet. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot!

If your TS CAL expires are is permanently issued to this client
depends on if you installed the TS CAL before you installed SP3 on
the Terminal Server, or after SP3.
But if the TS CAL is of the type which automatically expires, it
does so every 52-89 days.

So TS CAL expiarion in itself is not likely to ne the cause of the
problem.
Have you checked the EventLog on the Terminal Server at the time
the client tries to connect?
