Win2k Pro gets error when installing on new HD

J

John B.

When installing Win2k Pro. I get the blue screen and the
error message below just as it is finishing the
installation. What is this error telling me? I have just
built this new pc and it does the same thing on two
different HDs.
Thanks for any help, and Happy New Year!

This error means the kernel is having a problem reading data out of the
page file.

First take a look at this article

If it isn't that then it is pretty much always a hardware problem.
Sometimes you can get an idea of what is wrong by looking at the second
parameter on the stop error, but yours isn't a known one. Since you have
already tried a different hard drive it will be the cable or the
controller that is the problem.

Hi John,

This could be a number of things, we need more informatiion.
Which make/model motherboard? Got the latest BIOS?
Which disk on which controller are you installing to? Is it ATA? SATA?
How is it jumpered? Any other devices on the same channel?
