win2000 fax error trasmission only certain numbers

I'm experiencing a problem sending fax to certain fax number. 2 of
them are telephone providers, so I suppose they have trustable
equipment. after dialing remains waiting and then I get "Error in
transmission".
all other usual fax I use works OK.
any idea what to try or where to find some log?

What's the Status & Extended Status shown in Fax Queue? You can also look at
Event Viewer to see if there are any error or warning events describing the
failure in more detail. If nothing helps you need to enable logging. Let us
know & we can help you get the logs back to us for analysis.

But since the issue is with only few numbers the problem is more likely to
be with those particular destinations. Are you able to send faxes to those
destinations from any other source to rule out the problem on the
destination side?
