Win XP sp2 freezes

My comp have recently started to freeze and software stop responding. I have
checked for viruses and spyware but I'm clean. Often when I start IE6 it
freezes and the CPU starts to run on high temp, when I check my process
activity it runs opun 90%.
What can I do because I can nearly do nothing when my comp now?

What process is running it at 90%?

So Internet Explorer 6 is using up all your processers?
How clean (of spyware/adware) are you really then? That would be my first
suspicion.

Run through the information below - using at least 5 of those tools to check
for spyware/adware. I would definitely use CWShredder and HijackThis!

Does everything just "return to normal" if you kill the Internet Explorer
task when this happens?

There is no one software that cleans and immunizes you against
everything. Antivirus software - you only needed one. Firewall, you
only needed one. AntiSpyware - you will need several. I have a list and
I recommend you use at least five of these when suspecting spyware
issues.

First - make sure you have NOT installed "Rogue AntiSpyware". There are
people out there who created AntiSpyware products that actually install
spyware of their own! You need to avoid these:

Sometimes you need to install the application and reboot into SAFE MODE in
order to thoroughly clean your computer. Many applications also have
(or are) immunization applications. Spybot Search and Destroy and
SpywareBlaster are two that currently do the best job at passively
protecting your system from malware. None of these programs (in these
editions) run in the background unless you TELL them to. The space they
take up and how easy they are to use greatly makes up for any inconvenience
you may be feeling.

Please notice that Windows XP SP2 does help stop popups as well.

Another option is to use an alternative Web browser. I suggest
'Mozilla Firefox', as it has some great features and is very easy to use:

my comp when to normal again. It's two things I did, I don't know which
helped. I updated with Windows update and I ran Avast anti virus.
I had the crack-inf.exe file that was found. I don't know if this was
cousing me problems. Besides the file wasn't installed, it was compressed in
a rar file. But I eresaded the file. And the crack-inf.exe that was somehow
lurcing in a temp folder I don't know how it came there because I have never
ran this file.
