Win XP clean install fails

I am trying to install XP on a formatted hard drive. When I begin the
computer boots to the CD and the install begins, but it stops and
gives me the message "File ohci1394.sys is corrupted. Press any key to
continue". It also says at the bottom of the screen "Setup Failed.
Press a key to restart". I have no idea of what to do other than
installing Win 98 and upgrading to XP, but I don't want to do that.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Go to
http://www.samsung.com/Products/HardDiskDrive/support/faqs/faqs_20000120_000
0000036.htm and scroll to the bottom of the page where you will see a link
to download "clearhdd" which you can put on a Win98 boot disk (if you don't
have access to one, then go to www.bootdisk.com and download an image for a
win 98 boot disk and apply that to a floppy) and then type in, without quote
marks "clearhdd 0" and when it asks for confirm, twice, press the Y key. It
will write zeros to your boot sector and then your HD can be either set up
with FDISK while there or you can boot off the XP CD and choose to set it
all up from there.

I solved the problem. I created Win XP setup disks from the Microsoft
website:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...db-5039-4955-bcb7-4fed408ea73f&displaylang=en

Booting from these floppy disks instead of the CD and then inserting
the disk later in the installation(when prompted to) the install went
without a hitch.

okie dookie this is for whoever people that is searching google for ohci1394.sys and the file is messing up your boot install or is freezing and blue screening your computer. some guy said it was a hardware problem so i nearly took apart my whole computer trying to solve it, its not, the file is for your firewire for cameras its really not an important file but can cereally mess up your computer. like all you have to do is upgrade your computer windows xp to windows xp SERVICE PACK 3, or make a cd that has SERVICE PACK 3 on it and i believe your computer will boot or run fine.
