Win XP and 98 on a network

Is it true that you can't go to a XP PRO machine with the 98 one's to burn
files on the CDRW ?

When I try, I get an error message asking me a password wich I never set. On
the XP machine, the CDRW is sahred with full access.

Any idea ?

XP Pro networks fine with Windows 98 boxen and other operating systems.
You just don't have things set up correctly. Since you don't give your
network setup, I can't guess exactly what's wrong, but start by 1)
being sure each machine has a unique name; 2) each machine is in the
same workgroup; 3) all users on the Win98 boxen have accounts set up on
the WinXP machine; 4) you are actually logging into the Win98 machines.
If that doesn't help, post back or look at Steve Winograd's site about
networking XP (Google for his address).
