Win Msg 4.7 not upgrading to 5.1

I installed messenger.msi to upgrade my Windows Messenger 4.7.3001 to 5.1.
Installation appears to be successful and the program works, except that
Help-About still shows version as 4.7.3001 rather than 5.1 something. Is
this normal? I rebooted and ran the msi file again and it did not update the
version. Any ideas? Could this be because MSN 7.0 is already installed? How
can I update the new version?

Nevermind. I guess Windows just needed to be restarted. After rebooting, the
Windows Messenger version is now 5.1.0680. Windows Messenger 5.1 and MSN
Messenger 7.0 are both working normally. Only one of them is open at a time.
Sorry to bother you guys.

PUHLEZE! help me! I've been going crazy. I downloaded MSM Messenger 7.0 and
it works just fine, but I can't get Windows Messenger 4.7.2010 to work. I
don't know how to upgrade it and I can't get a passport because I keep
getting an error message saying that it can't connect to the internet even
though I am connected and when I check it out, it says all systems are stable
and running. I have windows XP. Can you please help me?
