win explorer view/folder options

First, a thank you! to the experts here. I had a disaster (caused by installation of a Sony software, dammit!) and decided to upgrade to Win XP Pro while solving it. All the major problems I had, such as loss of Office Express folder and emails, sound card problems, getting my scsi card to work, etc., I found solutions by just reading the posts and answers here.

Thanks!

A tiny, simple problem eludes me. In Win Explorer, all my folder views go back to 'Details' when I have closed the folder then open it again later. For some folders I want 'icon' view, for some 'details,' etc. I have gone to 'Folder Options', 'View,' and have checked the "Remember each folder's view settings" box, like I did in XP Home and Win ME. But it still happens.

What am I missing

Thanks, again

You're missing Kelly's little regedit

The Default for Windows XP is to remember the view settings for the 400 most
recently used folders.
Increase Folder View Options Limit: (Line 2):

Details on how to use are on the top of her page.
