We would like to download the newest Beta, but what if our

May I suggest going to http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/default.mspx
for best practices. Be sure to watch the video!
There are other freeware/shareware scanners out there that will work on ME
systems. Thinking Spybot and Adaware just to name two.

MS Antispyware doesn't support win98. Go to download.com
and download SpySweeper. It's a trial version, but it
will do the job. Adaware is also a decent option and
it's free.
