Win 2000 Equivalent of File Settings and Transfer Wizard?

We are working on standardizing our lab to Win 2000 Pro.

In some cases, we have Win ME which cannot be upgraded to 2000. To get
around this, we did a clean install of 2000 on a different HD and wanted to
then transfer applications from the ME HD to the 2000 HD.

I know XP has a File Settings and Transfer Wizard (FAST) that would make
this easy, but 2000 doesn't. Is there anything that can be done with 2000
that is similar, or 3rd party software, to do this?

thanks

I dont believe the Transfer wizard will transfer applications. With
applications you will have to install them

I never ran ME but my usual trick, works with almost everything, is to
do fresh installs on the new disk, and then copy the old datafiles to
that new install. CFG, INI, DAT, all those should transfer just fine,
as well as documents created by the programs. In the case of cfg or ini
files you may have to edit to change path info if the new machine will
not have the same HD and root path structure as the old. You may find
the programs erroring with "can't find file ..." complaints because of
the need to correct such path information, but eventually it will all
clear up.
