Will Upgrade to XP Resolve Problem from 98SE?

I'm thinking about upgrading to Windows XP from Windows 98SE, partly because I've had a problem with the processor usage being at 90% at idle. If I install Windows XP, will it eliminate that problem

Odds are your problem has something to do with one of the programs you have installed. But I must say that all the problems that I had with Win98 disappeared when I upgraded to WinXP. WinXP handles everything much better than Win98. You might want to try running Adaware and Spybot to see if you have adware/spyware that is causing your trouble
