Wierd sound coming from speakers.

I get this strange sound that comes out of my pc's speakers. It happens on
my win2k and XP machines. Sometimes it makes this sound just before someone
calls me on my cell phone but other times it does it for no apparent reason.
I've heard it on other peoples computers as well. Is it picking up radio
interference or something? Is there a way to shield it?

My cell phone causes that if it is close to the computer speakers. I think
it is normal. I have heard it at other locations also. I believe your cell
phone syncs with its network periodically, sending out a signal.

Do you have a mobile phone near to your computer when this noise happens, if
so all that it is is your mobile phone receiving a signal, even though you do
not get a call you still receive signals from time to time. Just move your
mobile a little further away from your speakers.
