Why prompted to Subscribe to this Forum

I recently migrated from OE to Thunderbird and I subscribe to this forum
in it's Newsgroup feature just as I did
with OE.

Although I am confirmed (checked) as being subscribed to,"
microsoft.public.windowsxp.general", in my NG Accounts,
I am always prompted to subscribe each time I open my account. Clicking,
"Yes", seems to refresh the page, but that is
all the prompt seems to achieve. I also have, "Cookies Enabled", for the
site.

What up with that"

I queried, "Prompt Subscribe Newsgroup", but saw nothing.

On the same subject; OE had a nifty feature for accessing my posts by
clicking CTRL+H. Does T-Bird have a similar command or do I get around
it by using the, "Label" feature, or something?

This is a Thunderbird issue, so you should look to the T-bird community
for support. I'm sorry that I don't have a direct answer for you; while
I use T-bird for mail, I don't use it for newsgroups. Here are some
T-bird links that may help:

Thanks;

I had to pick one forum or the other; I thought this might be a common
issue since so many people seem to have switched
to Mozilla lately. I'm still evaluating T-Bird vs. OE. I really like the
added functionality of T-Bird but I am finding it (v. 1.5) to be very
twitchy.
I have spent more time dealing with it's spirits and spooks in the last
3 weeks than I have spent on anything else, and I am still a long way in
being confident with it.

I like it a lot for email and especially its Junk Mail filter, but I
prefer a dedicated newsreader for news. Here are some other Windows
newsreaders you might be interested in:

Thunderbird is junk, dump it. Use OE for Microsoft newsgroups.

LOL, OE is junk, it's a after though for reading Usenet groups.

Thunderbird, SuperGravity, and anything non-MS is going to be better
than OE in ALL cases.
