Why is Outlook 2003 using so much memory?

I'm running Outlook 2003 on Windows XP sp3. I have noticed a massive amout
of RAM being tied up by outlook.exe in the task manager even when the program
is not running. As a mater of fact, the outlook.exe line shows up from 3 to
7 times in the task manager process list and each is using over 60,000 K. I
have no idea how to fix this. I've tried the new profile route and it
doesn't work. Ideas?

If you see multiple OUTLOOK.EXE processes, then Outlook isn't properly
closing. See if anything here helps:
