Why is domain login so slow?

M

Mr. Pinball

I just added a domain controller to my network and it
appears to work fine. However, when workstations (running
W2K Pro) login to the domain, it takes between 5 and 10
minutes for the boot-up and login to complete. I am
guessing it must be a domain name and/or DNS issue
somewhere, but that's just a guess. If I try logging into
the local machine only, boot up and login takes less than
a minute. Any ideas? Thanks

Sounds like a good suggestion. How do I set up my W2K
server's DNS to forward to Internet? Thanks.

On the Forwarders tab check "Enable forwarders."
Enter the IP addresses of your ISP's DNS servers.
