Why does windows installer screen start when opening email in Outl

Hi All,

Just started using Outlook (2003) after usng OE for years. However , when I
select some email messages (1 in 25 or so) the Windows Installer screen
starts and has to be cancelled to read the email - which I can do when the
Installer screen goes away. There are no attachments on these emails and I
have scanned the computer several times for viruses and spyware, etc.

Any suggestions?

Are there any similarities between the emails (such as date range, etc.)?

that might be because of deleting some files related to outlook, when
ever the user launch the shoftcut of outlook express that file find for
missing files, if anything missing then windows installer will repair
it automatically, so ensure you havenot deleted any files or
registries, that would be important to outlook to run

leave it to install atleast once, then close outlook and open and
select the same email, it wouldn't install again

Kathleen,

None that I can see. They are alway HTML, but most HTML emails come through
fine. There are no attachments on most, and many come from major U.S.
companies with internal virus scans for outgoing mail. It alos hapens only
once a day or two.
